Video Interview: Jordan Syatt- Powerlifter, Strength Coach, and Owner of Syatt Fitness
Once again, we're back to one of my favorite parts of this job: the part where I get to interview some of the world's smartest people. This week's guest expert is strength coach Jordan Syatt of Syatt Fitness.
Jordan Syatt is a world record powerlifter with a 4x bodyweight deadlift, celebrity personal trainer to Gary Vaynerchuk, and has been featured in CNN, The Huffington Post, Mens Health, and more. His main goal is to make high-end fitness information freely available all over the world, so he wrote The Metabolic Blueprint: 101 Metabolic Workouts which you can grab completely free HERE.
This interview follows a different format than any I've done before. Rather than answer questions in writing or do a live video interview, Jordan opted to answer each question in a separate short video.
For someone who is new to powerlifting, what kind of rep/intensity/volume range should they be working at?
For each of the common strength moves- like the squat, deadlift, bench press, row, and military press- what are the biggest errors in form that people should be watching for?
How does strength training change as a person goes from beginner, to intermediate, to advanced?
Are there any accessory lifts that you recommend to help people get good at the big lifts?
For athletes, how should they adapt their training to support the needs of their specific sport?
How big of an issue is overtraining when training for maximal strength? What, if anything, do you have trainees do to avoid it?
Jordan has successfully coached world-class athletes, famous business tycoons, normal folks like you, and not at all normal fitness coaches like me. To get some of his best workouts for free, download 101 Metabolic Workouts.
